For those who already hold a real estate license in another state and are wondering if they can continue practicing upon moving to Nevada, this article will provide a brief overview of how the transfer process works.
Nevada currently has a semi-reciprocal agreement with several states. These agreements are only associated with transferring to another state as a real estate agent or salesperson role, and it’s important to note that this process does not extend to becoming a real estate broker or broker-salesperson within the state of Nevada.
Real estate licenses from the following states will also be recognized by the state of Nevada, and include:
- Arizona
- Colorado
- Delaware
- Idaho
- Kentucky
- Minnesota
- Texas
- Utah
- West Virginia
If you are already licensed as a real estate agent in one of the above states, fingerprint cards are required. In addition, you will also need to formally fill out the Nevada state application, as well as take the 40-question Nevada state test.
If you are attempting to obtain a salesperson’s license in the state of Nevada, holding a real estate broker’s license in the following states (as well as the states already mentioned) will be recognized by the state of Nevada, and include:
- California
- Connecticut
- District of Columbia
